Memorandum quod in proximo itinere Martini de Pateshull sociorumque ejus Domini Regis Justiciariorum Itinerantium sedentium apud Lichfeld post Werram inter Regem et Barones de Stafford et de Lichfeld et de Tamworth et de Totesburi Burgenses et prepositi deposuerunt querimonia coram eisdem Justiciariis quod de Burton et de Bromle Abbatis mercatum et feria fuerunt ad nocumentum mercatorum suorum et feriarum suarum unde iidem Justiciari facta prius inquisitione diligenti ibidem in quibus diebus mercatum et feria essent apud Stafford et Lichfeld Tamworth et Totesburi cum perpendisset manifeste quod mercatum et feria de Burton et de Bromle non essent in eisdem diebus decreverunt et pronunciaverunt mercatum et feria de Burton et de Bromle non esse ad nocumentum mercatorum et feriarum suarum et data quadam summa pecunie inrotulaverunt in rotulis suis villam de Burton liberum esse burgum et ejusdem mercatum et feriam unde preterea hucusque semper coram Justiciariis Regis dicerunt pro se per xii burgenses
